Quality Deer Management, Grey-Bruce

We have received this from David Legault, president of the Grey-Bruce Branch of the Quality Deer Management Association (QDMA):

I am honoured to introduce myself as President of QDMA Canada Grey-Bruce Branch, recently chartered by the Quality Deer Management Association (QDMA). I am a long-standing member of QDMA Canada and OFAH and a QDMA Deer Steward graduate and Professional Geoscientist (non-practicing).

QDMA Canada continues to expand with 18 branches established in Eastern Canada. QDMA was originally established in 1988 and has a growing membership exceeding 60,000 across North America. QDMA is recognized among wildlife agencies, land managers, hunters and the general public as the experts on white-tailed deer management. QDMA’s philosophy is to promote sustainable, high-quality deer populations, wildlife habitats and ethical hunting experiences through research, education, advocacy, and hunter recruitment.

My personal motivation is simply to help the Grey-Bruce area realize the benefits of Quality Deer Management. To this end, QDMA holds educational and fundraising events, that bring people with common goals and interests together, all to the benefit of white-tailed deer, wildlife habitat and our hunting heritage.

I believe that we, as hunters, have a shared responsibility to steward the land and to ensure the future of wildlife and sustainable hunting practices. Like so many others, I am captured by the magnificence of the white-tailed deer in their natural habitat. I also believe in giving back to others, in dedication and thanks to mentors who shared their knowledge and experience. As a land owner in the Grey-Bruce area, I cherish what we have and see the future potential.

Sincerely,
David Legault
